The Return of Jesus
Introduction
Many people are dreaming of going to heaven someday. But the Bible doesn’t really talk much about going to heaven. Instead, it talks more about the return of Jesus. Why is that? Why are the first followers of Christ, the early church, and much more after them, more interested in the return of Jesus? In the last chapter of the Book of Revelation, it says, “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
FOUR REASONS WHY
- God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1; Revelation 21:1; Isaiah 65:17; Revelation 21:1-5)
- God created mankind to rule on earth. (Genesis 1:26-28; Psalm 8:3-8)
- God sent Jesus His Son to rule on earth. (Hebrews 2:5-11; Ephesians 1:22-23)
- God wants mankind to rule again on earth. (Romans 8:18-25; 28-30; Revelation 22:1-5)
Conclusion
- The climax of God’s plan happens on earth.
- Our final destination is on earth.
- We are now being trained to rule on earth with Jesus.
