What to Study in a Small Group
There are many resources available for small groups. Unfortunately most of them are for sale and most of them are too narrow to develop well-rounded faithful and fruitful disciples. I have found two materials that are FREE and the content are truly helpful for discipleship. Challenge your small group members to go through these two materials either in sequence (the first and then the second) or simultaneously. Then when you meet, follow this simple agenda.
- Welcome everyone
- Share Praise Items
- Share Personal Insights based on any or both of the FREE materials (see below)
- Share your Personal Progress Reports (using this guide)
- Share your Plans and Prayer Requests for the following week.
- Pray for each other
- Close the meeting in prayer
Here are the two materials that you can use to develop your members into faithful disciples.
Remember, the important thing is not the material but the processing of the material. Use the material as a means to an end and not as an end in itself. The goal is not to finish the material but to understand and apply its teachings. Go ahead and try this approach and you will see good results.
