God’s Word Will Endure Always
Introduction
People are concerned about the end times, especially when they think about their unsaved loved ones. They know that unbelievers will suffer the wrath of God on Judgment Day. Understandably, some Christians feel relieved knowing that they will be spared from all these. They believe that they will be “raptured” just before the Tribulation. But is this really God’s plan? In the Book of Revelation, God shows us that the church is actually called to evangelize the world until the very end.
THREE PIECES OF EVIDENCE
- Our unique calling is to be *PRIESTS* (Rev. 5:9-10, 6:9-11). A priest is a representative. He represents the people before God by praying for them. He also represents God to the people by teaching them His will for them. This calling is basic to our identity. This is who we are. It’s our purpose in the world. Even until the end, this calling will be vital in bringing God’s salvation to the world through the Gospel.
- Our unique calling is to be *SERVANTS OF GOD* (Rev. 7:3-4, 9, 13-14). As servants of God, we are called to serve His will and purpose. He will protect us for this very reason. Therefore, we must not think of ourselves as privileged people. Instead, we must think of ourselves as people of purpose. We must ask ourselves what is God’s will for the world. He wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (see 1 Tim 2:4).
- Our unique calling is to be *PREACHERS OF GOD’S WORD* (Rev. 8, 9:4-5, 20-21, 10:9-11, 11:3-4). Our calling is not to escape the wrath of God. God will take care of that matter and we will have nothing to fear because of God’s promises in His word. Our calling is to proclaim God’s word always whatever the season or situation. Until the very end, He wants to give people a chance to repent. He is patient with everyone.
CONCLUSION
- It’s a great blessing to know *God’s word* will *endure always*.
- Our unique calling reminds us to preach the Gospel always till the very end.
- Let’s use every possible means now to share the Good News with everyone!
