INTRODUCTION

Failure has different effects on people. Some are terrified about failure. Others are energized and challenged by it. But those who love the Lord greatly — and still fail repeatedly — have a difficult time dealing with failure. Failure makes them feel unworthy and unacceptable before God. Can they still be used by God? Do they still have a future as far as serving God is concerned?

THE STORY OF PETER (John 21:1-22)

1. Major failures can have a significant effect on our sense of purpose. (John 21:1-3)
2. During this time the Lord may reveal Himself to us in a fresh way. (John 21:4-6)
3. We must learn to listen carefully or we may not hear what He is saying to us. (John 21:7-11)
4. We must quiet our souls in His presence to hear His voice clearly. (John 21:12-17)

6. What you must do is just follow Him regardless of your failures and/or weaknesses. (John 21:18-22)
