All Evil Will Be Removed
Introduction
Every day we see evil all around us. Just when we thought that the pandemic is almost over, we hear about a new and much deadlier variant appearing in some countries and threatening the rest of the world, including us. We also continue to experience corruption and injustice. A lot of people are dying, sometimes for no reason. When will this end? The good news is that evil will eventually stop. It will be finally removed. How?
THREE STAGES
- Evil is right now being *restrained*. (Revelation 6:7-8; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-7) Some people doubt the reality of God because there is so much evil in the world. They think in their hearts, “If God is powerful and loving, why is there evil in the world?” But they fail to understand that it could be worse. If God does not exist, the world would have disappeared a long time ago. In fact, Scripture says that God is restraining evil right now.
- Evil will soon be *defeated*. (Revelation 12:7-12) It may seem that evil is powerful and nothing can defeat it. But this is not true. In fact, it doesn’t even take a million angels to defeat Satan and his demons. It just takes the archangel Michael and a few angels to defeat him and his demons. The Bible says that the time of Satan is short. Therefore, he is now on the run.
- Evil will be finally *removed*. (Revelation 20:1-3, 7-10; 21:1-5) There will come a day when all evil will be removed and there will be a new creation where evil and its consequences will no longer exist. Satan and his demons will be judged. They will be thrown into the lake of fire together with their followers. We are looking forward to a new heaven and new earth. This is the reason why we can stand firm today in the midst of all evil.
