God In The Midst
Introduction
The pandemic has disrupted everything in our lives. Many have lost their jobs or couldn’t find one. Others were forced to work from home. many businesses closed down. Business owners had to pivot or they will close down, too. Finances became uncertain. Each one must find a way to earn a living. The government is torn between keeping the economy going or keeping the people safe. What a difficult decision to make! But how do we respond in the midst of all these?
Three Important Choices
- In the midst of *busyness*, learn to rest in God’s *presence*. (Psalm 4:8) – With so many things going on in our lives, especially the stress and the pressure of navigating the new work-from-home situation, meeting family needs, and even fulfilling our calling to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ or doing ministry, it is tempting to become too busy. We need to learn how to rest in God’s presence. (GV Lehayan)
- In the midst of *struggle*, expect God to do a *miracle*. (Nahum 1:7) – Sometimes we may question if God truly cares for us as we struggle during these difficult times. It seems all the doors are closing and we are running out of options. Fear and anxiety can easily creep in. But when we trust God, we can expect God to do a miracle in our lives. (Theresa Geneston)
- In the midst of *uncertainty*, trust God for your *security*. (Prov 3:5-6) – During the pre-pandemic, we feel confident as we plan our lives. But now everything is uncertain. We can no longer hold on to anything in the world that can give us security. But when we trust God for our security, we can experience His peace that passes all understanding. (Darille Cabrera)
Conclusion
- God is in the midst of *everything* as we *trust* in Him.
- See God in the midst of any situation and you will see that situation in a different light.
- This week, choose to see God at work in your situation whatever that may be.
