Carriers of God’s Love

Introduction:

In 1952, John Elliot and his missionary friends embarked on a perilous journey to an Ecuadorain island to spread the gospel among the Houarani Indians. Tragically, they faced hostility and were killed by the tribesmen. This incident raises the question of why some Christians are willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the gospel while others remain lukewarm and indifferent. Understanding the gospel’s significance is crucial here. Many Christians attend church without fully grasping the need to serve others. Based on Ephesians 2:1-10, we can comprehend our state before salvation and our new life in Christ. Accepting Jesus as our Savior compels us to serve Him and be carriers of His love because salvation is a gift of grace. This realization should motivate us to dedicate ourselves to Him and share His love with those around us.

How can we be carriers of God’s love?

Three Ways:

1. Be thankful and inspire others regarding your past.

Just be thankful that God saved you from your past life because he loves you and has a wonderful plan for you and He will sometimes use your negative experiences to help others who also have the same experience.

2. Understand and share your new identity in Christ.

God has already changed our identity when we decided to accept him. We are all sinners before deserving of wrath but now he made us alive in Christ and elevated our identity. So new identity of him should be our primary motivation to serve others not because of our good works but because of his grace

3. Fulfill your God given mission by grace.

God expects us to serve him because of what he has done for us. But our motivation should be based on his grace and mercy upon us not because we are good, or we are talented, or we are told by our leaders to do it. Our ministry t should be based on our loving relationship with Jesus so that we can be effective in loving others also.

Conclusion:
1. Your experience of Christ salvation will enable you to be carriers of God’s love.

2. Challenge them to serve in ministry and to do their best in whatever ministry they choose.

3. Pray for the people to use their talents to serve God. Pray also for those lukewarm Christians to serve again and to recommit their love for Jesus.
